Eye Contact, and the famous "Second Look"

Why is eye contact such a big deal?

Okay so I'm a girl, and in being a girl I'm interested in guys. Wow. That was profound. One thing that I've noticed in my many years, is the significance of eye contact.
When you are interested in somebody, often you look at them. Boy, I'm full of profound statements today. Just kidding. Anyways, it's something we all do. Once in a while, you make eye contact with the person you are looking, or sometimes staring at. Most people probably wouldn't think much about it, but eye contact really is an awesome thing. Just think about it. It takes two people to make eye contact, unless you can do some really strange things with your eyes. So, for you to make eye contact with this person, you obviously can't have been the only one looking... =D.
Now, sometimes it may have just been a coincidence. More often than not they really were looking at you, but the deal clincher is the all famous "Second Look." If it really was a coincidence you may never know with just one look, but, if you receive the second look, there's no doubt that it wasn't coincidence. When I'm really interested in someone, not only do I look at them as I walk past or whatever, but I often take a quick look over my shoulder once I'm past. I don't know exactly why I do this, but whenever they are taking a second look themselves, it is a nice feeling.
Why is eye contact such a big deal?! It doesn't seem like it would be, but if you think about it, it can be a much bigger deal than originally thought. When you look into somebody's eyes, you can tell a lot about them that you really couldn't find out any other way. There's just something about someone's eyes. In the eyes, you can tell how the person is honestly feeling despite the look they may have on their face. Eyes can smile...eyes can cry....eyes can hurt....and eyes can let you take a glimpse into the person's soul. Eyes can also be the most beautiful feature on a person. Personally, I'm a sucker for pretty eyes.
Another thing that is so cool about eye contact: When you walk by a person, and say "Hi Joey" or something along those lines, they can say hi back without even thinking about it. They can be anxiously engaged in another conversation and respond without focusing hardly any of their attention on you. But if you make eye contact, however, it doesn't matter if you are talking or not. They can be eating, they can be in the middle of a conversation, or they can be doing nothing, and just by making eye contact they are focusing most of their attention on you. That's pretty neat.
Next time you look into someone's eyes, think about how much you can tell about them just from the eye contact. Think about it. If you are focusing most of your attention on them by lookign at them, they could very well be doing the same to you. Oh, and never forget the significance of the all famous "Second Look."
